Goal

Make each image 20 KB or smaller, as a JPG. Quality and, if needed, dimensions are adjusted automatically to keep it as sharp as possible.

How to reduce an image to 20 KB

  1. Click Choose image (JPG, PNG, WebP or iPhone HEIC).
  2. Click Compress to 20 KB. The quality is adjusted first; the dimensions are reduced only if necessary.
  3. Download the JPG and check it before uploading.

20 KB is the usual size for signatures

Online application forms very often ask for the signature as a JPG of 10–20 KB, and sometimes the photo too. It is a tiny size: a phone photo is usually 2–5 MB, a hundred times bigger. The tool handles the reduction for you and keeps the image as clean as possible.

For the best result with a signature

  1. Sign with a black or dark blue pen on plain white paper.
  2. Photograph it in good light, without shadows, holding the phone parallel to the paper.
  3. Crop tightly around the signature with Crop Image — less blank paper means more detail in the same KB. If the form gives a size (for example 140 × 60 px or 4 × 2 cm), use the exam photo and signature resizer, which has those formats.
  4. Then compress it here to 20 KB.

Frequently asked questions

Can a photo really fit in 20 KB?

Yes, at a small size such as the ones forms ask for. The tool reduces the dimensions only as much as needed.

What if the form needs 10 KB?

Use Compress Image and type 10 in “Other”. For signatures, crop tightly first so 10 KB looks good.

Is the result a JPG?

Yes. JPG is the format these forms accept.

Is it free?

Yes, with no sign-up.
