How to crop a PDF
- Click Choose PDF. The first page appears with a rectangle over it.
- Drag the corners and edges to choose the area to keep — or tap Detect margins to trim the white borders automatically.
- Choose whether to apply the crop to All pages or This page only (use ‹ › to move between pages).
- Click Crop PDF and download.
What cropping is good for
- Removing wide white margins so the text looks bigger on a phone or e-reader.
- Cutting a scanned page to the size of the actual document (a receipt, an ID card, a ticket).
- Keeping only a chart, a table or a figure from a page.
- Getting rid of headers, footers or crop marks before printing.
Important: cropping is not redacting
Like in most PDF programs, the area outside the crop disappears from view but remains stored inside the file. That is fine for layout, but not for hiding data. To really remove personal information, use Redact PDF.
Private
The page is shown and cropped in your browser; the file isn't uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
How do I remove the white margins of a PDF?
Tap Detect margins: the tool finds the content of the page and moves the rectangle to it. Adjust if needed and click Crop PDF.
Can I crop just one page?
Yes. Go to the page with ‹ ›, adjust the rectangle and choose “This page only”.
Does cropping reduce the quality?
No. The content isn't recompressed; only the visible area of the page changes.
Is the cropped part deleted?
It is hidden, but still inside the file. To delete information for real, use Redact PDF.
