How to split a PDF
- Click Choose PDF. The number of pages appears next to the file name.
- Choose how to split: All pages, By ranges, Extract pages, Every X pages or By size (MB).
- Click Split PDF. With several files you get a single .zip to download, or each file separately.
Five ways to split
- All pages: each page becomes its own PDF.
- By ranges: type the groups, such as 1-3, 4-8, 9-12, and each range becomes a file.
- Extract pages: pick only some pages (e.g. 1, 3, 5-7) and get them in one PDF.
- Every X pages: parts with the same number of pages — handy for long reports or batches of invoices.
- By size (MB): each part stays under the size you choose, splitting between pages.
Split a PDF that is too large to upload
Court e-filing systems, government and university portals often limit each file to a few megabytes. With By size (MB), type the limit (for example 5 or 10 MB) and the tool creates as few parts as possible, each under the limit, without touching the quality. If a single page is already heavier than the limit, compress the PDF first with Compress PDF. We count 1 MB as 1,000,000 bytes, so the parts stay under the limit on any website.
Nothing is lost
Splitting copies pages exactly as they are: text stays selectable, images keep their quality and links still work. To put the parts back together later, use Merge PDF.
Private and fast
The PDF is split inside your browser — it isn't uploaded anywhere, so even large documents are ready in seconds.
