- If you don't want the answers to be changed later, tick Prevent changes after saving.
- Click Save filled PDF and check the file before sending it.
Works with fillable (interactive) PDFs
Application forms, tax and benefit forms, school enrolment, insurance claims and HR paperwork are often published as fillable PDFs, with boxes you can type in. This tool reads those fields and saves your answers inside the PDF, so they show up in any reader and when printed.
And if the PDF has no fields?
Many forms are just a scanned or flat page with lines to write on. In that case use Edit PDF: tap anywhere to type, add ✓ or ✗ and write the date. To sign at the end, use Sign PDF.
Lock the answers
With Prevent changes after saving, the fields are “flattened”: your answers become part of the page and can no longer be edited, which is what some offices ask for before submitting. Keep an unlocked copy if you might need to correct something later.
Private
Forms are full of personal data. Here the PDF is filled and saved in your browser — nothing is uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
How do I know if a PDF is fillable?
Open it here: if it has fields, they appear highlighted in blue. If nothing is highlighted, the PDF has no fields and you can write on it with Edit PDF.
Can I fill in a PDF form without Adobe Reader?
Yes. It works in any browser, on a computer or phone, with nothing to install.
Why does it say the form only works in Adobe Reader?
Some forms are made in an old Adobe technology (XFA) that only Adobe Reader can open. In that case, open the form in Adobe Reader or use the version the issuing office provides.
Are my answers saved inside the PDF?
Yes. They are written into the form fields, so any PDF reader shows them and they are printed too.
Is it free?
Yes, with no sign-up and no watermark.
