How to edit a PDF
- Click Choose PDF. The pages appear right below.
- Pick a tool: Text, Tick ✓, X, White out, Highlight, Draw or Image.
- Tap the page where you want to use it. Drag to adjust the position; the corner of the box changes the size.
- Click Save PDF and download the file.
What you can do
- Add text to a PDF: fill in a form that has no fields, write your name and the date, complete a declaration or add a note. You can change the size and colour and use bold.
- Tick ✓ or cross ✗: great for questionnaires, checklists and yes/no boxes. The tool stays on so you can mark several places in a row.
- White out: cover a word, a number or an area with white, like correction fluid. You can then type on top.
- Highlight: a yellow highlighter to draw attention to a passage.
- Draw: write or mark freehand with your finger, a stylus or the mouse — perfect for notes, arrows and circles.
- Image: a logo, a stamp, a photo or a scanned signature.
To correct a word: use White out over the wrong word and then Text on top, with the same font size.
What about the text that is already in the PDF?
A PDF doesn't work like a Word file: the text is “fixed” on the page, and changing a sentence in the middle of a paragraph means redoing everything around it. That's why the most reliable way to correct a part is to cover the original and type the new text over it, as in the tip above. If you need to rewrite the whole document, use PDF to Text to take the content to another program.
White out is not the same as redacting
The White out tool hides content under a white rectangle, but the original text is still inside the file: someone who knows how can copy it. To permanently hide account numbers, addresses, amounts or any personal data, use Redact PDF, which really deletes what is under the box.
Your document stays on your device
The PDF is opened, edited and saved inside your browser. Nothing is sent to any server — important for contracts, tax forms and documents with personal data.
Frequently asked questions
Can I edit a PDF for free?
Yes. All the editing tools are free, with no usage limit, no sign-up and no watermark on the file.
Can I change the text that is already written in the PDF?
Not directly. The most reliable way is to use White out over that part and type the new text on top with the Text tool.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Tap the tool and then the page. To move a text box, drag it by the ✥ symbol; other items can be dragged by the box itself.
Can I write by hand on the PDF?
Yes. Use the Draw tool: on a tablet or phone, write with a stylus or your finger; on a computer, with the mouse. Each stroke can be moved or deleted later.
Can I sign the PDF here?
To sign, use Sign PDF: it lets you draw your signature with your finger, type your name or use a photo of your signature.
Is it safe for confidential documents?
Yes. The file never leaves your device: it is edited in the browser and nothing is uploaded.
